This is a review of Glenlivet Nadurra 16 batch 0813Y bottled at 56.1%. The sample for this review came from my own bottle.
N: Some varnish at the start that dissipates with time, green apples, peaches, pears, fresh cut wood, lemon peel, pine needles.
P: Apples and pears, very malty, vanilla cake, butterscotch, oaky, lemon oil. Slightly dry with a good mouthfeel.
F: Medium-long. Apples and pears. Starts sweet before becoming dry and a little bitter.
Overall: This was an enjoyable dram and is the best Glenlivet I’ve had. The flavours are pronounced and work well together and it has a great mouthfeel. It needs more complexity to go from being very good to great but what it does it does very well. As an added plus this was a great value when I was able to find one. It would be nice if they brought this back someday but I won’t be holding my breath.
